FTE salary is SCP7-9 (set by the funder), £26,403-£27,254 Actual Pro-rata salary is £24,418 - £25,205 per annum

Walker Riverside Academy is an exciting and thriving secondary school at the heart of its community in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. Walker is an oversubscribed secondary school with 1100 students on roll and this number is predicted to increase over coming years. We help our students to aim high, be proud and love life, in both their academic and career aspirations, supporting them at every step and guiding them upon options available. MCR Pathways are an award-winning charity dedicated to ensuring the country’s most vulnerable young people are defined by their talent and never their circumstances. In each of our partner schools we have a MCR Pathways Programme Coordinator who works with staff and young people to facilitate the delivery of our mentoring programme Our in-school mentoring has profound impacts on mentees in their confidence, wellbeing and post-school progression. MCR Mentors make and experience a life changing difference and our Pathways Coordinators make this possible. At MCR Pathways, our driving force is simple - that young people who are in, or on the edges of the care system, will have the same educational outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as any other young person.
We have had a transformational impact in schools and local authorities across Scotland and the South East of England, are delighted to now be expanding our programme into the North East and are looking for a MCR Pathways Programme Coordinator based at Walker Riverside Academy in Newcastle. In this role, you will be an integral part of the school community, liaising with education colleagues and external stakeholders, and delivering the programme to young people.
Key responsibilities will include:
● Help build exceptional individual relationships with young people across Y7 to Y11 and deliver Y7 and Y8 group work to full year curriculum.
● Help to drive mentor recruitment. Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from training through the length of their engagement with the programme.
● Actively support MCR young people to: identify their talent; build their self-confidence; develop their aspiration and fulfil their potential.
● Collate evidence of young people’s progression quantitative data and qualitative evidence such as young people’s voice and case studies.

You will also receive consistent support from a dedicated SLT, CEO, Trust Central Team, Local Governing Body and Trust Board.
